Is There A Difference Between The Facebook Messenger and Facebook App?
Okay, so I don’t really understand what all of the hype is about with Facebook Messenger. After I downloaded the app on my iPhone and tried it out, the first thought that came to mind was, “How is this any different from having the actual Facebook app and accessing my ‘messages’?”
In my opinion, there isn’t.
Let’s take a look at Facebook Messenger versus just sending messages through the Facebook App.

Perhaps, my view on this is coming from the fact that I actively use Facebook frequently and the messenger is meant for those who don’t, as a way to entice these individuals to engage with the social platform?
Facebook Messenger promotes that following three:
Again, all three of these highlighted features are doable within the Facebook app and can be done directly through a mobile phone if your phone number is confirmed within your account. I suppose I was hoping for something “awesome” given all of the publicity around the messenger.

Yep it’s useless if you have the Facebook app running. It’s the fb app stripped down. Either u have one or the other
